NEW YORK
ZEN COMMUNITY FOR DŌGEN STUDY

  • New York Zen Community is a sangha dedicated to Shikantaza Zazen and Dōgen study. We offer lectures exploring the teachings of Dōgen Zenji and other Buddhist texts, with a focus on their practical relevance and integration into daily life.

  • Part of a global network of disciples and students of Okumura Shōhaku Rōshi of the Sōtō Zen School of Japan, we are under the direct lineage of Sawaki Kōdō, Uchiyama Kōshō and Okumura Shōhaku.

  • An expanding collection of resources is being curated to support independent Buddhist study.
